Centropyge Fisheri is a small dwarf angelfish that haild from the waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands.

Along with Centropyge Argi, Centropyge Flavicauda, Centropyge Acanthops and Centropyge Aurantonotus, they are among the smallest members within the genus centropyge.

They are commonly known as the Fisher's angelfish and do not exceed a length of 3 inches. They are a dark rustly orange throughout their body and may have a grey to purple mid section. Their tails are yellow and they have a single spot near their pectoral fins.

For their size, they are somewhat pricey with specimens being sold from $40 to $60. Not too common in the marine trade, they are not exaclty very popular angels either. This probably has to do with their overall dull coloration. In the wild, they are omnivores that consume a wide variety of food items found on the reef. They are grazers that consume algae, small crustaceans and detritus among other things.

The genus centropyge feed primarily on detritus, small crustaceans and algae. Despite this, the vast majority of them tend to accept most prepated foods in captivity. It is always important to offer a mix of both meaty and algae or spirulina best foods in the marine aquarium.

A good mix of meaty and vegetable matter is essential to the overall health of dwarf angels. Some other good foods to feed daily are * Sea Veggies Seaweed, which are nutritious seaweed for grazers. Prime Reef * Flake Food which is a blend of numerous seafood and algae such as seaweed, lobster meat, salmon, shrimp, squid and zooplankton.

The best dry pellet foods on the market come from the highly reputable makers, * New Life Spectrum. Use a * Seaweed Clip when feeding them seaweed sheets. Simply take a sheet, fold it and clip it. Secure the clip to the aquarium glass in a location of your choice and they should graze on it throughout the day. Centropyge species can nip on corals so be warned.

Due to their small sizes, they can do well in an aquarium as little as 30 gallons. It is recommended however to provide them with a larger environment such as a 50 or more gallon aquarium. You should always put all new fish in a quarantine tank for a period of time to treat for any parasites and diseases present.

They do not get along with other members of the genus and you should never put two centropyge fisheri together in the same aquarium. They do quite well in the marine aquarium and should be fed a wide variety of foods including frozen, fresh and dry foods.

Centropyge Fisheri is a fine addition that becomes hardy once acclimated to the tank. They are a small angelfish that can be seen constantly grazing on the reef.
