Centropyge Eibli is a dwarf angelfish that is collected primarily from the Indo-Pacific oceans. They are a pearl to gray colored fish that have orange vertical stripes running down their main body. The back half section of the fish is black.

A moderately priced angelfish, they are priced in the $25 to $35 bracket. They are one of the larger centropyge species and can top out at 6 inches in length. They share their habitat with two other commonly seen angels. The lemonpeel angelfish and the half black angelfish.

As such, they have been known to interbreed with these two species from time to time. The hybrids are sometimes offered on the market and are generally expensive. Rare color forms resulting from the hybrids are in great demand and require deep pockets for a specimen. A species of surgeonfish, Acanthurus Tristis, or the Eibli Mimic Tang, mimicks this species as juveniles. The similarities between the two are impressive to say the least.

genus centropyge feed primarily on detritus, small crustaceans and algae. Despite this, the vast majority of them tend to accept most prepated foods in captivity. It is always important to offer a mix of both meaty and algae or spirulina best foods in the marine aquarium.

Secure the clip to the aquarium glass in a location of your choice and they should graze on it throughout the day. Centropyge species can nip on corals so be warned.

Cenropyge Eibli is definitely one of the larger members of the genus. They can reach lengths of 6 inches. Because of this, they require slightly larger aquariums than their cousins. In terms of size, they are on the passive side and are not really a bother to other species of fish. They will however, display aggression to other species of within the genus, especially other EIbli's.

The minimum size aquarium used to house them should be no less than 75 gallons. And ideal size would be 100 gallons or more. You should always put all new fish in a quarantine tank for a period of time to treat for any parasites and diseases present.

They are not a particularly difficult species to get feeding in captivity. They should be given a variety of foods including New Life Spectrum pellets, frozen mysis shrimp along with formulated angelfish food like pygmy angel formula. Overall, Centropyge Eibli can be a hardy and interesting addition to the saltwater tank.
