All marine angelfish belong to the family Pomacanthidae. These can further be divided into two main groups. The dwarf angelfish (Centropyge) and large angelfish (Holacanthus, Pomacanthus, Pygoplites, Apolemichthys, Chaetodontoplus, Genicanthus). Please make your selection above.

They are popular marine aquarium fish that are well represented in the marine aquarium hobby. While the dwarf angelfish have been known to nip on corals occasionally, larger angelfish are definitely not reef safe. It is for this reason that most larger angels end up living in fish only aquariums while the genus centropyge can be found living in a variety of reef tanks in captivity.
